On the pivot point of the shift lever itself. Road crap gets in there eventually and can clog up the shifting action making the foot lever stiff and unresponsive.

I think it safe to say that our bikes really like super clean fresh oil. Dino or synthetic, it just wants new and fresh. And will reward you with happy noises after every change! My personal preference is diesel oil

15w-40(50) detergent oil, cheap and nasty, new oil filter changed every 3K miles and your bike will run like a top. Clean the shifter linkages and a touch of the old WD 40.
You will be a very happy rider.
The bike will be happy too.

I took my seat off the other day to begin winter project, and goodness gracious.....what schmutz had accumulated from last year! :shock: Everything is dusty and dirty!
