Removal of front frame plates

Post by prormsby »

I have no idea what they are called, but the front side plates that cover the frame and front airbox. I love the way it looks without them, can I leave them off? or do I run a risk by sucking something into the front airbox?

They are just screwed on....There's some guts visible if you remove them, and you pretty much MUST remove at least one, to unscrew the front bolt on the front airbox....but leaving them off just looks too junky.......yeah....

This is what i did on mine.
Didn't like the look of the neck covers so, welded and tap a tab and bolt a mesh cover.
