I'm not by that bike, it's at home. According to the wiring diagram, it should be yellow / black.SuzukiFan95 wrote:Really appreciate all the help!. do you know the wire colors?scootermcq wrote:Lmao... Re: Not turning over with start switch
If there's nothing there then you probably lost the clutch switch somewhere along the way. So now you have to jump the wires like scootermcq said. He used a paper clip, I used a short piece of wire and wrapped it up with electrical tape. I'll bet dollars to donuts that's your problem.

Could be the decompression valve. When it does that put it in 3rd gear and roll it backwards until you feel the pistons move a stroke and try again. . If it starts your decomposition needs adjustmentSuzukiFan95 wrote:This is what im getting? any more ideas

Sounds like the starter is binding. Put it in a high gear and try to push it, make sure the motor didn't lock up.

Motor is perfectly fine and if i jump directly to starter it turns over.enforcer wrote:Sounds like the starter is binding. Put it in a high gear and try to push it, make sure the motor didn't lock up.

Re: Not turning over with start switch
This is a long shot but here goes.
My 800 started doing the same thing, I cleaned all the terminals and connectors, charged the battery and it was no different, After a few day's the starter stopped working altogether, I did notice that when I pressed the start button the starter cable was getting hot. Starter motor removed and disassembled, the culprit was one of the stator magnets had come loose and a small piece had broken off and was getting trapped. A good clean up and some liquid nail cement, left overnight to set and reassembled. This happened about 6 months ago and touch wood it has been OK since then.
Like I said, it's a long shot.

Re: Not turning over with start switch
What it looks like in the video is you're running battery leads to the starter solenoid, which wouldn't really complete the circuit. And definitely wouldn't turn the motor over if the polarity is backwards. If the battery is wired in and the polarity is correct, just jump the solenoid the correct way by laying a screwdriver across the leads to complete the circuit. If it turns over, you need a new solenoid.SuzukiFan95 wrote:Motor is perfectly fine and if i jump directly to starter it turns over.enforcer wrote:Sounds like the starter is binding. If you tried to start it while the battery was weak, there's a chance the relay contacts broke or fused together.

Me too --ripped all that shit out years ago. When I press the start button I want it to start, I do not want the bike to take charge and remind me I may have my stand down or pull the clutch, bull shit ----start you bastard.
