Whenever I see anything on YouTube that resembles a modified 1400, it's in Germany. You might want to do some YouTube viewing as research, and either learn German or hope they converse in English. I can't even find a simple and affordable conversion for getting rid of spoke wheels and tube-tire rims for my S83, much less sophisticated engine modifications. Hope you find what you're looking for.

for the 1500 head on the 1400 base, i think there was a reason why no one did it, was reading on the old board... cant remember if it was the bolting patern that didn't fit, or a question of ''clearance'' between the engine and the frame.
i've been thinking about your ''problem'' and maybe the answer is simple: get rid of the engine and put another one in there! sure, you need to find something that is shaftdriven or make a conversion to the bike to make it chaindrive and fabricate lots of stuff but still... maybe you could have the first intruder with a hayabusa engine ever made :P (and yes, i know, it's not answering yur question.... still it could be your answer :P )

I would also like to know the performance advantage.
I have ridden 3 1500's and all were slower than my 1400's.

Uncork the bike
You need baffles or you lose power in the mid range.
I like thunder monster baffles from www.bigcitythunder.com
Next remove the front air box, modify the rear air box and install pod air filters.
I use K&N they cost more than some but you only buy them once. They can be cleaned and reoiled forever.
Next you must rejet.
ONLY USE MAKUNI JETS.
Stock is 125 front and 140rear.
In los angeles at sea level.
l use 140 front and 155 rear.
The jets you need depends on where you are.
I think the best carb kit is stage 2 from cruiser magic .
But they are hard to find. I like CM2 pipes too.
Do not trust the jets you have because you dont know what they are. Even if you see the number the jet could have been drilled.
So start with new stuff and you know what you have.
My 1988 1400 with the jetting l just told you about can pull the front wheel a foot off the road from a 20mph roll just by hitting the gas hard....no clutch needed.
With the added power you will need new clutch springs to get it to the back wheel.
Get your springs from designer here on Intruder alert.
This is not up for debate.
His springs are the best l EVER had and i have been riding since 1960.

When you got the springs from designer did you get the bolts too.?
After that I suggest better intake and exhaust.
The carb jetting depends on your pipes and air filters.
Also how you ride comes into play aswell as where you live.
