POR-15 tips or tactics?

Post by BRONX INTRUDER »

Um... So it's hard enough to get liquids like fuel and water out completely.
How would or does one go about getting the excess of this stuff out?
Haven't put it in yet cuz I want to know any possible strategies before I do and have a puddle issue.

I use duct tape to cover the fuel tap opening. Then when you finished rolling the liner around angle the tank so any excess pools at the fuel tap opening. Remove the tape and let it drain. Keep the bolts in the threads though.

When the excess has drained but the liner is still wet, turn the tank upside down so you dont get a solidified droplet at the fuel tap opening. Wipe any liner away fron the opening surface. Letting it dry for a week (or more) is best.

But the hole isn't at the very bottom.. What liquids pool below it and I have to shake/swing the tank to get it to exit the hole and even then I have to shove a rag into gas gap hole and tilt tank to get remaining liquid out.

Is a little pooling okay then?

Hmmm - a bit weird that the tap isnt at the bottom but a little pooling is OK. If there is pooling best it is up top (IE: let the tank dry upside down)

:lmao: I stopped and blew it out into the box before it entered my mouth. I wasn't trying to find out what it tasted like. Lol. Tried my best not to inhale it either. Lol.

You see the straw though and the form it left when I pulled it off the puddle?
