Has any of you guys ever installed a aftermarket fuel tank on your 97 vs1400? I’m in the market for one. Everything I find is not an exact fit and will take some modification which I’m fine with but just figured I’d see if anyone has any recommendations. I pretty much ruined my tank with tank sealer. I made a post last week about it. This is an amazing forum. Iv already learned so much from just reading throat the post. Any info is appreciated.

You can resurrect your stock tank by placing a length of peerless sash chain in it and wrapping it in a blanket. place it in the dryer with no heat and let her tumble.
the chain should remove loose sealant and rust. the redo the sealer.

I thought about something like that. Never thought of the dryer though. Thanks for the idea. I might just might take a shot at it

If you don't have any luck with that you could take it to a radiator repair shop and have them refurbish it.

I have had tremendously wonderful results from using evaporust. Dunno if anyone else can vouch for it, but i now love it.
