Hi folks,
i get a problem. with the decomp control unit.
I'm on vacations on fuerteventura island (Canary Islands) and the bike not starting.
the control unir decomp make a bzzz noise and the lights of oil and neutral going off.
the I close the contact and when I retry to start the lights of oil and neutral going on and pushing the start button again and i hwar again the buzz noise in the relé and the lights going off again. (not seems to be a fuse issue).
the problem is that here i can't buy the part online and can't wait for the delivery (like 30/40 days).
How i can solve it?
there is some decomp relé that i can try to find (something that mount on another bike o another car)?
Hoping Someone can help me...
thanks in advance.
I will try to put photo and a video that i made.
Cheers
Gianni

Hi Bud,
i just solved a problem of cutted gas tubes.... and the bike was well and the battery too.
I don't think so.
the lights are all shiny and se mes not to be a battery problem.
well. i mové a lot of cables trying to change the gas tube . but i was expecting a fuse Issue for some kind of cables problem and ot a relé problem.

The clicking at the start of your video is a sign of low power. The clunk later on is the solenoid engaging but the starter not turning.

If the battery connections are good try and jump the terminals at the solenoid (make sure the bike is in neutral). If the bike turns over then it's the solenoid / starter switch / wiring. If the bike doesn't turn over then it's a bad battery / starter motor / decomp or locked motor.

Good starting point.

The symptoms you reported of..."buzz noise" ...and lights going off... sort-of point to your Battery being of Low power,..or of intermittent /weak connection.

As I mentioned in the First Response of mine to your Original Posting ,...do check things out as you plan. :ShitGrinandThumb:

... Good News,
I have put contact spray on all the connections, the battery is good, I checked almost all the cables, it seems that it is solved. The bike starts and after a long time working only a cylinder... all the two cylinders starting to work. (cause i close the gas for the problem i got on the cutter gas tube) and runs fine . but on the try, for something like one minute, still works only one cylinder. Could be bad gas or condensation in the tank. I'll test it tomorrow on the highway and fill the tank with 98 gasoline.
Thank you to all of you,
I appreciate so much.
Gianni

Glad you got it going. Thanks for letting us know what fixed it.

Just a little note on your comments, use the lowest octane fuel that you can get for these bikes, they start and run better and get better mileage.

I can no longer get 85 octane but the 1400 loved it.

Using Seafoam for a few tankfulls would be a better idea than 98 octane.
