Turning the screw right puts the screw in, which leans. Now if you say pooping is from being lean, then why when I lean the carb the popping goes away?

Have you taken mixture screw out & checked the tip & the o-ring?
If at first you succeed, don't be surprised.

Also if you never had the adjustment screw out it's impossible to clean the jet properly.

Yes....The jet is most likely plugged if you never had them out.Be careful when you remove them not to loose the spring & o-ring.

Correct. Clockwise turns (right turns) makes the mixture richer. Counter Clockwise turns (left) close the screw. Turn too hard after it seats, and you just ruined your A/F screw.

Did you read the long post I typed?
Clockwise right is closing the screw (Lean) Counter clockwise left is opening (Rich)???

My bad. :bang:

When the screwdriver is turned to the LEFT, it is ADDING more fuel. It is RICHER.

When the screwdriver is turned RIGHT, it is limiting the fuel. It is LEANER.
Thanks......Thought I was off my meds!!! Lol [emoji2]

Correct. Clockwise turns (left turns) makes the mixture leaner. Counter Clockwise turns (right) opens the screw. Turn too hard after it seats, and you just ruined your A/F screw.

EDIT TO ADD:

I just watched your short video where you turned the screw. When you turned it LEFT or as you should say, COUNTER CLOCKWISE, you made the mixture RICHER. What you refer to as POPPING is the "stumble" term I used in my other post. As you turned it clockwise, you leaned out the mixture and the popping (stumbling) stopped. If you had continued to turn it right, you would have eventually heard more popping/stumbling. When you do, you turn counter clockwise again until you find that sweet spot, i.e., no popping.

That is where you stop. Your bike sounds fine to me. I would strongly urge you to NOT tear the carb apart and go cleaning it. It sounded fine to me when you said "popping is gone".
That's what I am thinking also, yes I did read your post, I also used your instructions on the A/F screw posted elsewhere.
I also did try to turn it more right but it seems like it seats fully before any more "popping/stumbling".
now I don't want to get more confused here but, popping vs stumbling, the bike isn't really stumbling from what I can tell, the popping is really what has me worried, when I stored the bike 4 years ago there was no popping. I don't quite understand why 4 years later I would need to lean the mixture 2 full turns without there being another issue

so do we all agree, as I am leaning the bike the popping stops according to my video?
also if this is the case how can my issue be a lean issue, if reducing the gas is stopping the popping?

ok I'm thinking about this thought more, if it was plugged wouldn't that give me a lean condition? so leaning the screw would cause more popping?

Im thinking more along the lines of a damaged o-ring. :)

everyone including yourself says i'm running to lean. I am trying to understand how letting a bike sit 4 years would equal the a/f screw being the issue. I feel like I am just concealing the real issue.

ok, now I see, I think you missed my post stating I'm about 1.4 turns out, maybe even 1.

This bike is going to be a gift, I want it running as well as it can.

Syncing will be my next step, but I don't know where I can get a barb for the rear carb (I think the front already has one)

Here's some information on carbs and why I am going to continue to say your bike is running lean.

It explains what i've been trying to say...just much better than I can.

http://www.motorcyclephilippines.com/fo ... A-F-Tuning

This is why when you turn it in, the popping stops:

" When your bike is acting lean, turn the airscrew in (clockwise). When it feels a bit too rich, open the screw to allow more air into the mixture."

Again, your popping is because you were running lean.
