It depends on where you live.
Im at sea level in los Angeles.
I have K&N pod filters, no air boxes and CM2 pipes

I use 145 front main and 155 rear main.

If you have stock filters and air boxes your air flow will be restricted.
You may get by without rejetting.
However you wont make much more power.

Also you need to be sure your carbs are in sync.
If not the bike will run hot and be hard to start.

.
What kind of mileage are you getting with that setup? How far can you go before switching to reserves?

There is always a trade off for high performance .
I am not a good example because most of my riding is in traffic and i weight 350lbs.
Plus im 6 foot 4 so my body is not aero dynamic.
Im more like a drag chute.
In town i get about 90 miles...but at 75mph i get maybe 130.
I dont care as long as I can roll 20 mph in first and pop the front wheel by just hitting the gas hard.
No clutch just hitting the throttle.

With air boxes and stock filters mileage goes up but performance goes down.

My 93 vs800 that i traded even for my 98 4Runner about 6 yrs ago ran like a raped ape with hard krome drags and pod filters with wool socks. Tweeked a/f's and no jetting. Lol.

Wow! You seriously get 130 miles on the highway @ 75 mph before hitting reserves with that setup? That's impressive!

Hwy number may be closer to 120.
It has been a while.
I remember i pulled off at about 80miles and has alot of gas left.
I thought the rez was open.
