How come I got drilled rotors/ discs

I got a 1400 87 Californian with drilled discs. any info on why. Is that Normal or has some one done it.

I have seen the drilled/vented rotors aftermarket, but not oem.
Arthritis sucks!

My guess is aftermarket.

I had to purchase a replacement disc a few years ago. It was aftermarket and is drilled.

The only advantage I have found, on my 1400, is that it makes a great place for a disc lock.
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

They make a great buzzing noise like a bee on gentle application. That alone would be a good reason for such a mod.
