Should I ?

Post by VictourGlP1400 »

Thinking Cone Filters due to missing the one on #1 Carb. Also, the Starter Solenoid Is missing Which One should I buy. the OEM is $66.oo Not good! Thanks! Oh the Voltage Regulator is 1/2" Behind the Crossover Exhaust pipe. Maybe that is why the PO had a charging and starting problem?

Not sure what kind of problems the PO had with the bike but the voltage regulator on all stock 1400 is in the same place. I have over 200,000 miles on the bike, still have the original VR and the original solenoid.
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

if you go with those filters you will need to rejet. is the whole airbox missing or just the filter?

The Snorkel and the air Box are gone. The Regulator is in front of the Battery. with the crossover of the pipe for both pipes to be on one side see Pic. the pipe passes within a half inch of the Front of the Regulator. I purchased the PC 535 Extreme Battery. so will soon know what the electrical problem could really be. with having to close 4 switches before hitting the starter button. who knows.(kill sw, Ign.sw, Kickstand sw, and the clutch sw) what could go wrong?

stock exhaust is one on each side, so your exhaust may be close to the VR. You may want to shield or move it. :donno:

If you want to keep it stock and avoid jetting etc. I have air boxes and snorkles you can purchase.

Figured my Bike has Been Abandoned in the corner of a Garage for 7 years. Parts wrapped in newspaper was from 2010. there Was only a drop of gas in the tank Smelled fresh.Fuel lines are still soft and pliable 14,000 miles on the speedo. flushing carbs, fuel pump, and lines with Kerosene. All Hydraulic fluids Will be changed to DOT 4. freed uprear calipers but, the pucks are not releasing is this a master cylinder problem? (new fluid). changing Oil an Filter as well. hope the Electrics come together. Am I missing anything Important?
