Front wheel bearings change
Has anyone replaced the front wheel bearings ? if so what toll did you use to remove the old ones? I have a 2005 s50 and need to change the front bearings. The axle tube inside does not seem to leave enough room on the edge to drive out with a punch.

Re: Front wheel bearings change
You can either open your wallet and buy a bearing puller or just use a drift / old screwdriver to punch them out. You need to move the bearing spacer out of the way just a little to get a bite on the inner race. It's do-able.

Re: Front wheel bearings change
Read the manual on reistall.
One side gets seated against the shoulder, then the spacer goes in.
The second bearing is seated to the inner race, not to the shoulder. Leaving a space.
Be sure to shoulder the proper side.

Got the new bearings installed today. Thanks navigator, per manual-- shouldered brake side first and all is well again.
