Oil Pressure Gauge?
Has anyone installed an oil pressure gauge on a 1998 VS800? If so, where did you attach it? There is a bolt to the right of the oil pressure sensor. Can it be attached there? What size adapter thread? I believe my oil pressure sensor is fine. I'm wondering if the oil pump is bad. Thank you.

If you have any type of electrical issue, have your battery load tested before you do anything else. Any auto parts store will test it for free.

Curiously has me,....you say your Sensor is fine,...but what makes you suspect your Oil Pump isn't? These Oil Pumps rarely go bad.Bip wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 11:11 amHas anyone installed an oil pressure gauge on a 1998 VS800? If so, where did you attach it? Does your Oil Light come on when running? If it is indeed intermittently coming on, it could be a wiring/electrical issue. A quick First Check might be o turn the bike on,...but don't start it...see the Red Light is on,...and check the wiring from sensor-to-gauge and see if it goes on/off .

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge?
He had another thread where his oil light was coming on.
Did you replace the sensor?
Unlikely to be your oil pump if it's intermittent.
More than likely the bulb wire grounding if the sensor is fine.

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge?
Resolved: It was an intermittent pinched wire. Was not easy to isolate. Now I can ride with no worries. Thanks for all the advice!
