My Bike: 98 intruder 1400

Hello and thanks

Post by Corgiluvr »

Newby from middle of Illinois here. Recently bought a 98 Intruder 1400 for cost of the new tires PO just put on a month ago. Bike wouldn’t start and local shop told him igniter AND fuel pump were bad.( Hmmmm!? Both at once?) Gave him a scary estimate. After joining this site and reading the very helpful post I sat out checking voltages first. Sure enough, 7 volts at CDI and fuel pump during cranking. Began ohm testing wires and found a couple bad grounds and corroded connections. Fixed them and it fired right up. I can’t thank you guys enough for sharing experience and knowledge on this site.

Motorcycles depend on good Battery connections
I have towed many bikes only to find loose connections at the drop locations
Welcome to Intruders Alert
Lots of good information here
