hello, i'm new
dave in sebastian fla. 68yrs old got a 2oo1 vs800 just 2 weeks ago, i will be asking some questions. never had a v twin, liquid cooling or shaft drive. its the cooling that most concerns me, i haven't seen the fan run. maybe it's not hot enough. i'll post a pic when i figure out hoe to.

Welcome Dave. I live in Arizona and only remember the fan on vs 700 coming on 2 maybe 3 times. Usually in the summer and in extreme stop and go traffic. Mainly stopped traffic.

My last liquid cooled bike (not an intruder) was similar - the fan basically only ran at the height of summer at LONG stoplights.
I THINK the 800s have an idjit light for over-temp, as long as that's not popping on you're likely good to go. I have a 1400, and it's air/oil cooled so doesn't have any of that fancy schmancy antifreeze stuff
