Hey all,
Just picked up a 2004 VS1400 in very nice shape. Turned 9,000 miles on the ride home. Maybe not mint but pretty close - the paint and chrome appear perfect, and I've never seen cleaner mechanical nooks and crannies. New brakes and tires too.
Had quite a few bikes over the years, mostly enduros and dual sports. Made the mistake of selling my V-strom last year. Only 1 day of riding on the intruder, but so far I love it. Very different, but a nice way to take in the sights.
Does the clutch engage very far out on all of them? Mine grabs about 90% out, and "grabs" indeed.
I also lack an owners manual and shop manual - any good links?
Anyway,
Glad to join.

Re: First Cruiser
Welcome aboard! I too am new to the cruiser scene, but not to riding. The clutched on mine is also far out but from what I've been seeing here, that's the norm. Ride safe.

Thanks for the welcome, and the service book is gold. Looking forward to racking some miles on her. Ordered a new r/r turn signal and a couple new tiny chrome caps for the controls to make it perfect, and two new air filters as I hear they turn to dust with time.
I would attach a picture of her but can't seem to find the link.
Ride safe,
Pat.
