WTB for 86 VS700
For my 86 VS700 project, I need
1) Fuel tank. No dents. Color not important. Will consider an year that fits.
2) Forks. Will consider thicker later forks, if triples are included.
3) Rear sear and back rest, if in good condition.
Thx

If your profile had any info we would know where your located. Where are you located?
I have all of the parts your looking for from a VS700 I parted out a while ago.

Re: WTB for 86 VS700
The triples should fit. I have a set of triples, both forks, and a tank (black). All from a '07 vs800.
I'll have to check on the rear seat and backrest. Can't remember if I sold them or still have them.
I'm in upstate NY, If you are interested, shoot me an email.

Re: WTB for 86 VS700
I have a tank from an 87 that(as I recall)is in great shape. It's been in a box for a long while. I doubt I'll ever need it so I'd let it go. If you can't get ahold of Navigator or he doesn't have a tank you can PM me or post in this thread. If you are interested in it I can put eyes on it and take some pics if needed.TripleKing wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 8:15 pmNavigator, I am having trouble getting in touch. I still need a tank.

What color is your tank? I saw pics of Navigator's tank and it looks very nice. I would probably go with his unless yours is Maroon and in as nice shape.Swcoinguy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 5:16 amI have a tank from an 87 that(as I recall)is in great shape. It's the factory color-like a reddish maroon. It's not the more purple red, it's closer to red than purple(I think). I can throw a couple pics of the fenders or side covers if you'd like. I know those are sitting on a shelf and I can put my hands on them easily. If it's the right color I can pull the tank out.TripleKing wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 2:01 pmWhat color is your tank? Re: WTB for 86 VS700
Yes, pictures would be great. I think yours might be the candy grape maroon which had a purple hue about it. Mine, I think, is Luxury Candy Maroon. There is a lot of paint damage on the swing arm and drive shaft cover. I was going to paint them black as it is impossible to find the original paint or have it mixed. If I did that, I would do the fenders and side covers black as well and leave the frame maroon. Navigator has a very nice tank in black. His would work if I went the two-tone look. I had thoughts about making this a true project as I did my recently sold 99 Magna.
I rescued this bike from a friend who was going to junk it with 8.600 miles because he is in his 70s, dropped it in his driveway a few times and no loger rides. I put it bank on the road for him 5 years ago and he let it go down hill. Once I fix it up, I am probably going to sell it for about what I will have in it +/-. I don't want to see a good bike scrapped. I would rather see someone enjoy it.

You can get paint to match your bike from https://www.colorrite.com/
If you wanted to paint.
Sounds like Swcoinguys tank may be your color, In that case use his tank.

I tried to email pictures to you through the boards email link. I don't see a way to add pictures though. I can send them through regular email if you give me an address.TripleKing wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 6:41 pmDK I can PM. My email s/b accessible via the board. Colorite may have paint.
