Wait time to get approval

I suggested an online 'friend', who has a VS1400, sign up here. He has tried, but has been waiting months. What's up with that?

 [space] Please disregard the worthless commentary above, WintrSol. :HatTip:

I order to get things going for yuor friend with some sort of constructive advice,..have you tried a direct PM to either Youde, 98VS1400, or Madcow?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll ask him what user name he applied for, and see if any of them can provide an answer.

Currently, all accounts waiting for approval have had action taken on them.

Oldest in the recent batch was Feb 20th...not months.

I try to approve each new account request...however, if I am unable to determine origin of the IP, it gets deleted. The user does not get notified i denied the account request.

Lots of reasons I might deny an account request:

1. Not able to determine country of origin.
2. Using a Tor exit node.
3. Using a static IP from a colo located rental server.
4. using a BNC relay
5. using an email address in which the FQDN is on a spam blacklist
6. Using a VPN service to conceal location/IP information.
7. Russia or China or Korea(s) IP address.

Nothing above is illegal...it's just highly suspect...we don't want spam bots/users hitting the forum. Most of the time though, it's because I cannot tell where the account is coming from (country). I am also quite sure I occasionally delete a valid request...try again.

I could go on...but each account request gets my due diligence. If his account didn't get approved, let me know what the username will be and I will look out for it specifically.
