When I bought my 1500, it had a fleabay lightbar that was rusting out and the PO had covered some of the worst areas with silver paint.
I was living with it until I could do something, but I also didn't like the fact that there were 2 bars across the front for turn signals and the spot lights.
I got a smoking deal on a NOS OEM windshield with lowers so I bought it. The problem with these is the lowers make most light bars un-mountable.
I wasn't heart broken because I didn't like the old bar, but I did want my lights back. The bar that does work is around $500 CDN and I wasn't going to spend that on mounting lights, so I got to thinking.
These brackets are for mounting concave mirrors on tractor trailers and they are $2 a piece
They fit perfectly between the shield and the lowers and the holes even line up so I would not have to drill my new windshield mounts.
Here they are mounted

There is always a way, the trick is finding it.
