I like to think I get a fair AMT of riding in but I guess not...my son is putting me to shame and he almost never gets more than 100 miles from where he lives, late summer last year he bought that new 883....he is at 11,000 miles on it already...Combine that with the 8000+ he put on that v-star before it came apart and he has done 19,000 miles in the last year....more than I did traveling to rallys and a trip to Connecticut....and almost all of his miles are local...the farthest away he has been is Navarre Beach FL...about 150 miles...if he starts doing rallys there is no telling how many miles he will do in a year.....most of it is commuting or chasing tail....

Got 40 miles in yesterday and 60 in today with my son and one of his friends. Came across a rider down. Looked like he rear-ended and cage. EMS was there so I made the sign of the cross for him and moved on.

Have not ever put 100,000 on any one bike yet but did put over 82,000 in less than four years on my 01 Nomad.Usually try to sell them before that.My all most four year old Vstrom has 51,000.Did do lots of over 30,000 mile years but have not been down to just two bikes since the 60s.Lots of riders buy a bike with lots of miles then act like they put them all on it. :bonk:

My little '99 800 had just a little over 5,000 when I got it in '06. Now it has over 120,000 and counting with no major motor work done and only once have the valves been checked. :OhNo;

Once I get my sleeper trailer built, if it ever happens, I have plans for taking a long lazy ride back to Duluth, with pics, along the two lane roads like I took on the first trip that got aborted at the Middle East war memorial in Illinois. Then it will be time to see about getting the motor home to Eufaula and my little piece of land I will call home from now on. With winters in Quartzsite, Arizona and summers on the road either on the bike or in the MH it should be a nice life for an old man. [emoji106]

You can do it, you have a year round riding season.

Almost 7000 km up to date, not too shabby for local riding with no road trips taken.

My little vstrom at four now has 53,000 after the Jeff Davis birthday bash in Fairview,Ky trip a week ago.Its down now :bonk: About 100 miles from home the front started clicking and I thought it may be a wheel bearing.By the time home was sure of it. Its the first Japan bike owned that did not have enough tools with it to take a wheel off on the road.The front axle takes a 12 mm allen and I had not packed the one I usually have for that.Man it was the worse I have ever torn apart.Only the race and ball in one side with a deep grove in the spacer from a ball riding up on it.The cage was mostly dust and shavings and the hub walled up a little the other side of the shelf.Think its ok to use again and ordered the bearing at the dealer and should be in today.Only other bike I had the balls fall out when wheel taken off was the 1984 FXST but hub was not hurt at all on it.Been riding the C50 every day now as still not fixed fuel pump on the 1700 RoadStar.As I get real old just ride what is running and put everything else off. :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

I have 5,469,212.667 miles on my '13 Harley. 42 billion miles on my '67 FLH. Life's a bitch.
