Intruders-Alert

If the site goes down, DON'T PANIC! It'll only be a momentary lapse if it does. This is basically just a test at the moment to determine if the idea even works.

If this works as I hope it will. I'll leave it in place unless there's a huge user outcry to remove it.
The idea is to get the site a main page. Presently, the page is basically a blank page. YOU SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY REDIRECTED TO THE FORUM AFTER 1 SECOND. IF NOT, CLICK THE LINK!

By doing this and if it works, it'll make us much more google friendly in the future. This is an effort to help us get more exposure on the net and hopefully it will bring more users to us in time.

This is a kind of, 'work around' to something the site server won't let me do directly, so, I'm kind of trying to, 'side step' the server to enable me to do stuff on my own.

Yes, seems to be working. I'm not sure how much good it'll do us with traffic being redirected to the forum, but it does give me an index.html page to do some stuff with. Basically meta tags and such. We'll see what google results look like when they start filtering in.

I tried a few keywords and didn't get our website once. But I did get the purple board a lot.

It'll take a while before the bots see it. It may help, it may not, but it's worth a try to see anyway.

Doing a google search for 'intruders-alert' shows us on page 2 of the results, not too bad in my opinion. I don't know if we'll ever get any higher in the list because we are alphabetically, below IA in the results.

It does however state: Intruders-Alert • Index page

....and this is what I'm trying to change. In time, I'm hoping it'll show up as: Intruders-Alert * A site dedicated to all owners and riders of Suzuki Boulevard and Suzuki Intruder Motorcycles

If google changes its listing to that, then it means my efforts are paying off.

Not so much that, just that our server doesn't allow me to do everything I was hoping it would. But you're right, it's not an easy task and needless to say, I've been doing a lot of reading lately.

First off, thanks guys for confirming the email was successful. It was basically directed to the members that have signed up and been here. Left a few posts and then haven't been back for a while. I could name a few of them, but if you want to know for yourself, you can look at the members list and see those that have left a few posts early on and then seemed to drift away or back to IA. I am hoping a little nudge might help to get them to come see what's happening and jump in on the fun.

Quick answer. For the moment, YES! At least until I can tell whether or not google has seen it, BUT you can get around it by bookmarking: "http://www.intruders-alert.com/index.php" to go directly to the forum instead of using: "http://www.intruders-alert.com" which will redirect you to the forum.
