Board Sponsorship?
Are there any companies that support our board?
I need to order some parts and wondered if there is a go to company that we can use or is there anyone who give us discounts?
Should I just go with ebay?
I didn't see anything in the tech section.

Nope.
eBay away. Save yourself some money. That's where I buy nearly everything for my bike. They always seem to have the best price.

Depends on what you're looking for. Did you look in the, "Parts and Accessories" section?

I'm just curious, wanted to see if there is a sponsor that we could support as well as help our board out to.

Re: Board Sponsorship?
The simple truth is this. This board will not be politically controlled by any group (sponsor, member or otherwise) as long as I am the founder.

Yo,
I wasn't bringing this into politics, just a few of the forums that I belong to have board sponsors and it's members recieve discounts. I like to shop at their businesses to suport them.

Re: Board Sponsorship?
That's fine for them. My thinking is different, we don't sponsor favoritism here. Touting favoritism is a little different however.
For instance, Designer springs are totally awesome (Touting favoritism)! However, Designer doesn't offer any discounts just because you are a member here (No sponsorship).
The difference is quite simple too....you'll go to Designer because he has the product you are looking for. Not because he offers a lower price!

Gotcha,
So to change the subject, what company would you order parts from?
Bike bandit?
J and L?
Motorcycle Superstore?

Unless I need a specialty part I can't find. I always Google first, but eBay comes up a lot of times with the best price.

And using it for almost everything also, but when I was trying to order these fork seals, I could only find one here at one company and then the other one there at a different company and then they all want to add shipping, so it didn't make sense to go through eBay this time

Re: Board Sponsorship?
I used All Balls when I rebuilt mine. 2 years, no leaks. I think it's more about how they're installed then what brand they are. I used them in the Beemer too, 6 months, no leaks. Here's a good price right here.Leckbass wrote:And using it for almost everything also, but when I was trying to order these fork seals, I could only find one here at one company and then the other one there at a different company and then they all want to add shipping, so it didn't make sense to go through eBay this time

I also used all balls on my old shadow, but seems most guys say oem for the intruder. I just ordered the all balls kit for him (dust and oil seals). 23.99

Re: Board Sponsorship?
Good price. That's what I paid for mine. (One of my dust seals was torn) That was the consensus, but I bought mine before I read about everyone using OEM. Held up just fine. If they leaked soon, I would have installed OEM. I also took special care in making sure I used the right amount of oil.Leckbass wrote:I also used all balls on my old shadow, but seems most guys say oem for the intruder. Re: Board Sponsorship?
To throw my opinion in where it wasn't asked for, once a company sends money to become sponsorship, they start to expect their product to be recommended, whether it's the best thing for the job or not, or else they start dropping hints about how maybe that money might start to dry up soon..98VS1400 wrote:Out of simple curiosity, how would an online store offering a discount to a forum group equate to any kind of control? Most of the forums I've been part of, in fact, all of them except for this one, benefit from getting group discounts. It is a mutually beneficial agreement. The company offers this discount in hopes of getting many sales and the forum members benefit from receiving the discount. It's kind of like group buys. If xxx number of people agree to buy xxx product all at once, the selling company offers a reduced cost. Would that be against the rules too?
Just wondering.

Wouldn't work here. Most of us no longer own Intruders.98VS1400 wrote:Out of simple curiosity, how would an online store offering a discount to a forum group equate to any kind of control? Might get a Harley discount though.

I go to Boulevard Suzuki myself. Exemplary service and just about the best prices (as of that last time I ordered OEM, that is) [emoji2]Leckbass wrote:Gotcha,

Well, I prefer the purple board and can't wait for it to come back. [emoji2]YoDude wrote:It shows favoritism.

Yo, I was just kidding and would never go back even if they would let me. I am where I belong and will stay as long as the powers that be let me.
I buy the cheapest stuff I can find online and it shows when you look at my bike with 129,000+ miles on it. [space]
