John, do you speak of a DUI? as why you can't go there?

Yo, it is because of a "felony" dui. I got railroaded into a felony by a lawyer that was not suppose to be my lawyer. :hellfire:

I don't know what a felony dui is, but I'd visit that same lawyer and tell him how you feel and see if he will get your record expunged. Be kind of course, hat in hand and all that. With the right persuasion a judge might commute the thing to misdemeanor or something. You might could even persuade a judge yourself. Show your exemplary living since those days and ask for his consideration. Ya never know.

That lawyer is now the judge I went before for doing what the courts tell you to do when you have a few drinks. They tell you to wait for a ride home... and if you happen to be lucky they won't charge you with a APC like they did to me. :hellfire:

I would check in with a lawyer as many felony DUI charges have the felony removed...I have a friend that got his removed .

I don't think it will do any good since we have so many crooked judges on the bench. But it can't hurt to try. Thanks for the reply. wow this sure got off topic fast. :bang: [space] :lolfall:

When I was in AA they were going to go on their yearly convention trip to Canada but the sponsors who went up first to set it up couldn't get into Canada. Canada said they were a bad example because of their background records. That was right after Canada changed the rules on who could get into the country because the U.S. changed theirs first. :bang:

I can't get into Canada either. You might try talking to an Immigration Attorney. I got one to look at my case, he said he's always trying to help people stay in the U.S. and had never attempted to help someone get out, but it was a good start. He walked me through a lot of the procedures, submitted it to the Canadians twice for review, had it sent back requesting more of my background information and a letter stating that I am not "Snidely Whiplash" (for those of you old enough to remember Dudley Dooright). I put some of it together, but I've been busy working and don't have a great need to go back to Canada for anything. So, maybe eventually I'll finish the corrected paperwork and resubmit it, maybe I'll never bother. ;IDunno:

John, trust me, you CAN get into Canada. You just need a wavier! And you can get one too. This is something I know about. You'll need to contact the Canadian embassy (located somewhere nearby to you) to get the waiver and it can all be done through the mail. Just because you have a felony DUI on your record doesn't mean you can't get into Canada. Don't shoot yourself short just because of what some asshat told you 20 years ago!

I have worse than a simple DUI on my record and even I can do this.
