Dang it, I wanted my neighbors gone

Post by BlacktopTravelr »

but I didn't want my electricity turned off too. :bonk: The handicapped lady's son brought her home today and he asked about the couple living in the trailer. I told him they were still there and he said not for long. He then went over and unplugged the trailer and cut off the cord. By unplugging the trailer he also cut my power to the refrigerator and lights. Since it is his trailer and didn't give them permission to live there and needed the cord I guess he has a right to it. So now I get to see just how long my batteries will last powering the lights (LED's) and refrigerator at night. Oh and the computer is (was) powered by the trailer. :bonk: Thank goodness I have propane heat. [space] :soda:

When they are gone maybe you could fix the place up and use your cabin for....oh....a lawn mower....that is if grass even grows in that part of Okie!

We have all kinds of weeds that need mowing. Once the weeds are gone the grass will grow. I'll need a riding mower for all the mowing I'll be doing. There is no way I'm getting a riding mower in here. :bang:

So, now that you have been without electricity, for a night, how are things working?

Last night was ok. I even had to turn the heater off it got so warm in here. [emoji106] I went to Walmart earlier today and bought a 30 amp to 15 amp plug so I am now hooked into the 30 amp outlet the trailer was hooked to. I now have electricity and they don't. :lolfall:

I had the fridge hooked up to the batteries all night and the batteries were drawn down but not enough to set the inverter warning alarm off. I guess that means as long as I have sun light the next day I am ok.

Being without electricity in the climate you're in John is not a very good idea.....even with gas heat...I'm glad that you're hooked up again..

Johnny, it's not as bad as it sounds. Almost everything I need can be run off the batteries except for the heat and that is why I use propane. According to the charge controller the batteries were down to 12 volts last night. It would have been lower but I unplugged the fridge for about three hours. I did that so I could play on the internet without drawing the batteries to low once I hooked the fridge back up. If I run out of propane and get too cold I will go next door and sleep on Linda's couch with her electric heater. Of course I shouldn't have to do that now that I have my own electric setup. Those small fridge's are battery killers.
As long as you got power they are ok.

Would most stuff keep outside, in a cooler?

Low drain fridge that runs on 12v are $$$.

A propane fridge is $$$ too, but much easier than electric ones for sure!.

Ok, I am using the dorm room sized fridge cause I don't have the MH down here yet. Once I get it here I hope to be able to move into it and use all the appliances it has in it. It supposedly has a brand new refrigerator (never been used) in it. I just hope it is still good. ;IDunno: [space] :soda:

If the MH has a dual fuel fridge it has to be darn near level for it to work, but other than that you can choose electric or propane to run as you may desire or need. To have the propane of course you have to keep the pilot lit.

Since the MH doesn't run I don't see me using any propane appliances. And the propane heater I am using puts a lot of condensation in the room. So I am sure it will do the same in the MH. :bang:

I had a 14 ft tent trailer that we used to heat with a dual mantle, dual fuel coleman lantern. We kept it comfortable, not warm, but sleeping comfortable, in temps down to 26 F. This kind of thing does require some ventilation, but it works.

I did have to get up and pump the lantern up about every 2 hours, but it was better than having the wife bitch at me because she was cold.

Not a problem where the fridge is concerned, it's fumes go out doors, and that' where you access the pilot most likely. When you use the cooking range you would get some condensation, but you don't cook all day long. Oh, and the furnace on the MH should put it's fumes outdoors as well.

John on the propane frig.

I been on some full time RV sites and they all say
Propane frig, runs about $1 a day to run....

So just thought I would throw that out there..

Hey John Start a YOU Tube channel.... You just use your phone or camera, and
tell them about SS or Neighbors, or Ok. or Obama, or whatever like you do here.

Retired guy Rusty in Texas has one you might check out. If you get enough followers YOU TUBE pays
you... I think he makes, $50 for having 1000 subscriber's .
Hey we all will sign up...

Just make it 5 or ten min. each day..... might be fun...
