My internet is so slow

by the time I get back to the Everyday Chit Chat board after posting a reply it already has a reply (answer).

I can't keep up with the board.

Oh well, I post too much

anyway and this is one way to slow me down.

Speedy was on my ship in the Navy back in '69. He was sharpening his knife and wiped the blade off on his work jeans and sliced his leg open and he didn't even know it. That knife was that sharp. we still tease him about it every chance we get.

The fastest connection I can get is at the local library. it is super fast, but since this is a holiday they are close.

Maybe, but knowing this library I'd say that turned it off. I'll have to ask them the next time I am in town.

I'm sure these ladies know how to turn it off. I've been in there too many times and been told the computers are offline for me to believe they can't turn them off and on. They even said the wi-fi is off the last time.

Glad Cox is unlimited. Hit their "limit" a few times, they just send you an email asking you to upgrade. Fat chance. My speed is plenty good enough for everything I do, and then some.

We're unlimited as well...but when you have at least 3 people streaming HD video.....it's not that your downloading too much...you're downloading too much at once...and the 75mb line won't handle it.

75Mb/s should be plenty enough for 3 HD streams, unless your devices aren't buffering properly or there's a problem with their servers.

HSPA+ is up to 40 Mb/s. My LTE is throttled at 8 Mb/s most places with Net10 on AT&T towers, same with my HSPA+. LTE I believe tops out at 150 Mb/s. Of course those are rated values, not real world. Lots of things cause you to lose bandwidth. With data limits on almost every mobile carrier, all that bandwidth isn't even really useable.

Holy cow, no wonder I am so slow. If I get 921.6 kbps I feel lucky.

But then according to Virgin's coverage map I shouldn't get anything and the fact that we don't get cell phone service here I don't know why I get wireless internet.

I've been getting this most of the day: "Unable to connect to the Internet." I get that even if I am connected to the internet according to my computer.

We must be getting some sun spots or something.
