I went to Walmart to buy a new 10 inch tablet and when I noticed the 45 minute wait to check out I decided all I needed was to find the front door. :bonk: :Umm:

Thanks for the link. I have a cheap 7" tablet I bought to carry on the bike when I take long extended trips. But it is starting to have problems. I have put music on it, a few pics and a couple of games. When I play the games the computer wants to go back to the start page in the middle of the game. A few of the songs will start over also. I should have listened to the reviewers when they said don't buy it. It is the FileMate T720 Clear. Amazon has it on sale, but it does have problems and the company that makes it (Wintec) won't stand behind it if you need support. I bought mine thru Walmart. This is the one I want and will probably buy. I know RCA used to stand behind their products. :OhNo;

All I know is Wintec makes the FileMate Clear T720 tablet and that is who you go to when it screws up and they will tell you there is nothing they can do to fix it and they won't replace it. Hopefully RCA is better than that. :blink:

I think you have me confused with someone that actually uses an SD chip. The only SD chip I have came with my camera and I leave it in there. :blink:

It has a slot for it,I just don't use it because it comes with 16 gigs of memory and I bought it mainly to check the weather when out for an extended ride. :Umm: Now I use it to store my music on. :cheers:

Is there another reason to buy a 7" tablet? :OhNo; I don't need one for work, because I don't work. I don't need one for school because I don't go to school. I don't do the role player games so I don't need it for that. I think you get the idea. I need it to check the local weather where ever I may be and to store music on. Maybe I need that SD chip to store my music on and save my tablet memory for more important stuff? :uhh: :Umm:

Be sure an let us know how that works out, Keith. I'm still wanting the 10" RCA tablet. I need the bigger screen. :lolfall:

Sorry fellas, only excess data I have that needs backing up isn't effectively "legal" per say. External HDDs for me.

And, no, it isn't child porn. :bang:

SD storage is great for photos and music. Apps, especially large apps, need to be stored on the device itself to reduce lag.

If you're just using the tablet for web surfing, small android tablets are great. Lots of RAM is the key. Linux is a memory hog once you get a lot of apps on there (Unix is too, basically so they load quickly, they always run in the background) For John's purposes, that RCA tablet would be just fine. My boss just bought one for his wife. Her first and only touchscreen device.

The other thing is where this is leading to monetarily: Subscriptions is what Microsoft wants to sell with their new Office in the clouds format.

Give away the first year and then ca-ching every anniversary.

They're already happy with letting people with pirated copies of Windows keep them, because they're making to much money with the Windows store.

Yep, and they're going to make it so your old files won't work with the cloud storage so you're forced to pay, or, use ancient software that no one else uses anymore, so, you're old files are useless. Azzhats just HAVE to find a way to make people pay for internet service some way or another.

I keep an antiquated desktop just for that purpose. And to use as a Linux box.

Do you even pay attention to anything that is said in a reply? I am in a hole and nothing I can do outside of getting satellite will improve my internet. I'm not buying the satellite stuff until I have a MH to put it on. Nothing, I repeat nothing works here... no cell phones, no TV, no radio... nothing works. Why I get internet is a mystery to me. I am in a hole surrounded by trees and I get internet but no cell phone. :bang:

I went to the local Wal-Mart about 1pm Black Friday and found several boxes of the RCA 10". Not really any more lines to deal with than usual day to day shopping so I bought it. Then I decided why wait until Christmas since it is only me. I absolutely love it so far. :clap:
