The flu shot does give you the flu. It's a weakened or dead strain, but does give you the symptoms. Only had the flu once in the past 10 years. Lots of Vitamin C and I was almost better in 2 days.

Oh, he'll be okay. I was having a bout of something myself it seems. Two days ago at work, I couldn't stop coughing all day long, had a persistent rattle in my chest that just kept wanting to come up, but wouldn't. Then yesterday and today, my sinuses are going totally crazy, having to blow my nose about every 5 to 10 minutes because of an excess of mucus production. Strange thing is, I feel just fine, no fever at all, just a really runny nose and a lot of coughing.
