Ok, I have read all the threads on page 1 except for the 9 I have no interest in. So when I get the email from Walmart I can see if my idea about raising my modem higher will give me a stronger signal and make my internet conection faster. One thing is for sure it can't hurt. :lolfall: :Umm: :OhNo; :HatTip: :XmasTree: :hat: What would I do without smilies? :bs: :blink: :angel:

You might need some USB boosters

Well, it appears I need something. These cables are no better than the last set I bought that didn't work. I was thinking that maybe it was my modem so I plugged in the external drive and it didn't work with the new cables either. ;IDunno: The drive did work if I plugged it straight into the computer without the cable. So it appears I have got another set of bad cables. :bang: I'm at a loss as to what to do now. I don't really want to send them back for that lousy $7 but if they don't work that aren't any good to anyone. :fubird: You cables.

Maybe, but the modem works fine with the one cable I have. I just need to raise it to see if I can get a stronger signal. The modem and the external drive are both USB powered thru the cable I have. :Umm:

John, agree with this, get a powered USB hub, they are quite cheap.

Ok, I'll see if walmart has one. Other than that we don't have a store that might have one. :blink:

I got a pm lol. I can see that stuff if I go look at profiles but that's a pain so I don't mess with it most of the time.

Ahem, getting back to me and my problem with the internet hub thing. I checked both Walmarts close by and neither had one. The lady at Holdenville didn't even know what a USB port was. :bonk: So it looks like I get to order something else off the web. :clap: :lolfall: :Umm: :OhNo;
