Farmers
For only the second time in a hundred years there is a significant increase in farmers... Youngsters and many or most have college degrees. Included in the ranks are increase of Hispanics, Native Americans, Blacks, and women! I think that is awesome. Small farms are competitive! Millenials are recognizing opportunity and going for it! Seems like they are on board for the Trump small business incentives. Fly over States rock! The Heartland has a strong pulse!

Re: Farmers
Not many know I grew up farming. My great grandmother had one of the largest and lasting farm's in the area I grew up in.
I am currently studying for the agricultural PRAXIS exam which will allow me to teach in the AG fields. There's a big push the past 5 year's to get kid's interested in the AG fields. I figure March for the test because I need to familiarize myself with some of the newer regulating agencies.

Re: Farmers
Have never been anywhere but farm land with more trees mixed in now. Never loved farming like my brothers but we all have owned small farms. A bit of my in come came from my farm but not much.Easy 50% of farms in my county are like mine baby farms.Hay,a few cows, goats, sheep, and stuff to sell at farmers markets. Hay is all thats been taken off mine the last few years. Do have a good crop of hedge apples this year if anyone needs a peck?

Re: Farmers
Not only is commercial farming on the rise, but lots of young people are getting into what they like to call homesteading - growing their own vegetables, raising chickens and other livestock, making things they consume around the house and such. Much the way our parents and grandparents did. It's a good trend.
