CREOLE NATURE TRAIL
One of our signature rides ..
Knees in the breeze is what it's all about with good weather//
We had just the right mix of sun and good company this past weekend..
several members of another HOG group rode to our fair city and wanted to tour the Creole Nature Trail... after a nice meal at a local eatery we headed out for the Gulf Coast for a leisurely 144 mile ride through prairie marsh, sandy beaches and the highlight of the trip, the ferry ride across the Calcasieu Ship Channel where these pics were taken..
9 bikes and 13 folks made the ride... good times had by all.
Total miles for the day was 240 miles with 3 stops.. first one was to meet up, 2nd one to have lunch and the last one on the ferry
Invites to future rides were given out in both directions to both clubs..
Life is Good in Cajun Country
on another note
I've been checking the mileage on the trike and any time spent on the interstate highway system ends up with no better than 35 mpg....
on this ride it was all back roads with speeds no more than 60 mph and mileage did improve somewhat to 38.9 mpg...
and that was in some serious wind gusting up to 35 mph.
