OC Run
So yesterday the house was all quiet and so I decided to hop on the FJR and make a quick run to OC and back...and stop to swap out the memory cards in my trail cams.
The trip was uneventful really...I did go off roading with the FJR to get to my stands, two of them, and swapped out the memory cards. Want to check to see if any deer are near my stand, and hopefully get a pick of the hammer I've been after for a couple years. By the way, the owners manual makes a great peg rest in the dirt to keep the bike from sinking and falling over....WHEW...close call. LOL
On the way back, on the 50 bypass west bound going around Salisbury, this little punk ass on an R6 kept screwing around like he wanted to race me. He'd get up next to me and gun it. So, once while he shot a head a little bit and was slowing back down to get next to me again, I had shifted down to 3rd to get my RPM's up...flipped the sport mode switch...so I can be ready...and when he gunned it again....I whacked that throttle and next thing I know I was shifting to 4th at about 115mph and he was in may rear view mirror...WAY back there. I didn't let off until I hit 130. I slowed way down to 50 mph and he slowly rode past me...punk ass bitch wouldn't even look at me. IT WAS A GOOD DAY
EDIT: Fixed the speed, typo

Second of all, refer to the latter part of first of all.
Ya know, I started to take a pic of my scoot next to my deer stand....but the mosquito's were going to town on me...I got the heck out of there!!!

You are 100% right in that regard...............
Did you know the roadway by heart? Was the traffic heavy, medium or slow, was there many vehicles in front of you?
....was it raining? How was the condition of the road in front of you?
How old was the punk?
and the most important question........ If he could have kept up with you..how fast would you have gone to bring him down?
All things considered...... was it really worth doing the ton+? I can only assume you took all these into consideration
I try to do the ton on every ride, and try is the key word here, the conditions have to be perfect and I mean perfect ,
yesterdays retiree ride was not the case....hilly terrain for most of the day with medium traffic..
PS: I just wish I would have been there to see it [emoji106]

Re: OC Run
Mikes decision took only 15.7 milliseconds to analyze the complete situation to determine that coming to the conclusion of, though it might not have been the smart thing to do, but rather, the only thing to do, which also included a complete list of check marks to all of the above mentioned safety factors actually being safe, led to, "That's it. I'm gunning this bitch!".
