I ride "One up" so should be fine.......Thanks.98VS1400 wrote:Looks good! Just watch for rubbing under the fender.
No, unless you disassemble and cut out a coil or 2. I wouldn't recommend it. Look for some Marauder or Shadow shocks on eBay. Others will work but may require the eyes reamed or new bushings.wj_hurd wrote:I like it too!
Question... Can we take about an 1" out of our stock height with an adjustment to the stock shocks? I would love to drop mine just a smidgen.
Suzuki Savage (S40) shocks are a direct bolt on.enforcer wrote:No, unless you disassemble and cut out a coil or 2. I wouldn't recommend it. Look for some Marauder or Shadow shocks on eBay. Others will work but may require the eyes reamed or new bushings.wj_hurd wrote:I like it too!

Lowering links are an option as well, but also not recommended.

How much drop will I achieve?Blaine wrote:Suzuki Savage (S40) shocks are a direct bolt on.enforcer wrote:No, unless you disassemble and cut out a coil or 2. I wouldn't recommend it. Considering they're mounted at an angle, geometry doesn't work that way. If they're 11", it's going to drop his ride height slightly more than 2".Blaine wrote:About 2" They are 11" i Believe.
That's why I said ("About 2")enforcer wrote:Considering they're mounted at an angle, geometry doesn't work that way. If they're 11", it's going to drop his ride height slightly more than 2".Blaine wrote:About 2" They are 11" i Believe.
Thanks...I removed plate light & raised plate up under brake light.....Put white LED for plate light.DevilsFan wrote:Blaine...you better pull out your license plate! Those things have been known to get curled up by the back tire. One day I looked back at mine and wondered who the hell would curl up my plate! Then I read a few stories.
The shocks from a s40 (Savage) are 11" & a direct fit.Mrparks88 wrote:Marauder or Shadow shocks. These will fit with some work? I'm also interested in lowering my rear. I hate how high it sits =( but I have to be careful because I have a custom bag mount on mine. Hmm.. Has anyone done any further research on easy fit springs?
Not significantly, but enough you'd notice with the stock shocks on.SoakedKarma wrote:PO had dropped the rear of my 96 to 11" shock
Stock 80/90-21 front tire, 140/90-15 rear makes for a lean slightly raked look..
Do wonder how much handling geometry is affected..
1400s all had 19. 21s came from 800s and I believe 750s. Late 80s to mid to late 90's. Don't remember exact years. Bolt right up without any mods.Blaine wrote:What all years had 21" on front......Mine is 19"......Would love to get a 21".
Great......Thanks for info!!!enforcer wrote:1400s all had 19. 21s came from 800s and I believe 750s. Late 80s to mid to late 90's. Don't remember exact years. Bolt right up without any mods.Blaine wrote:What all years had 21" on front......Mine is 19"......Would love to get a 21".
