Nice bikes ya'll!
Here's my '93, too many mods to mention.
And the Lady Thunderbird's '98. The tank is the newest project, an original 1400 tank cut open with 2" strips of steel welded in to make it wider for longer range, more gas, close to 5 gallons. Haven't had it out too much since mod... Her old 5 gal Kevlar tank started leaking.
Both together in the garage:
Be safe out there...

Re: Show us yer bike
my re-entry scoot in 1997 was a 96 intruder 800; bought from dealer with maybe 50 miles on 'r. i rode it for 3 yrs and 38k miles.
2. next came an 00 LC 1500, 2k miles, good for 4 years and 50k miles.
3. new 05 kawi vulcan 1600 classic, lasting 6 yrs and 66k miles.
4. new 09 kawasaki ninja 650, ridden 6 yrs and 56k miles.
5. current set o' wheels is new 15 suzuki v-strom 650, bought 9/15, ridden not quite 15k miles.
if i have pix of my first two bikes on my computer, i do not know where they are...boo and hiss.
my daughter on her kawi 250. she's married with kids now. LOL. of course dat be me on the 1600
d'ninj'
the 'zuk'
most of my miles have been accrued within san diego county. i don't ride if it's cold (under 60F? LOLOL), rainy, or dark.
i've never ridden outside california. have been overnight once or twice. longest day? 380 miles. these days i'm tired after 100 miles or so.
ATGATT? nope, but i'll always wear a helmet, required or not.
down only once in all my scooter travels: on the LC i was turning right into a residential neighborhood; the rear wheel slid dramatically to the left. down we went, smashing the right leatherlyke bag to smithereens, but not before saving my foot. badly bent rear brake pedal, but easily adjusted to working order. otherwise, worst injury was my ego.

Re: Show us yer bike
Steve think we talked about the Vstrom on the other board. My 650 is smallest bike I ever bought new but longest trip.We went 10,300 miles in three and a half weeks.Turned 66 day after I got back.Camp every night but the one in DeadHorse when they would not let us because too many bear alerts. We saw so many bears while riding the Haul road.Like a indoor KOA,walk down the haul to big showers and bath rooms. One light only thing in room besides the two old bunk beds on the floor and a orange rope tied to bed to throw out window in case of fire, think the big snow drift by first floor window would break a fall. [emoji2] .No tv or anything but the light.$120 each! With 28 degrees and snow first week in June we did not fight it much. [emoji2] I had all ready asked you to repost those old pics in the new member place.Hope you find them. Paul/old time rider.
