Which would you want for the same price?

A slightly, cosmetically wrecked 97 FLHR with 60K or a nearly mint 01 XL883 with 17K. Both located in town, same color, same money (at least I think they're worth about the same, and that's what I'm offering). Pics to come.

Gosh....that is a dilemma. Perhaps if I had the cash I'd buy them BOTH!

And both run and drive, and he had the Road King checked for frame damage and it's straight as an arrow.

Yeah, but I think they're both valued, to me, about $3K. (They're both asking right around that)They're both interested in my BMW + cash their way. I think my bike plus $700 is a fair deal. Not sure if either will work out, but we'll see.

The Sporty would be my choice, because...well....it's a Sportster. [emoji2] I wouldn't be interested in the FL because ergonomically it just wouldn't work. The FL is a 97, so it's still got the very reliable EVO motor and if you're not a short guy like me, it could be a really nice bike.

I want a small bike worse than I do another big one. I'm looking at the Sporty Sunday afternoon. It's been listed for a coupe months and he told me not one person has come to look at it.

The FL is right up my alley, as I have an 03. Granted mine had a Batwing and a Twinkie, but other than that, it's essentially the same bike. Very few differences. Besides, the seller is quite hard to get a hold of.

I hope the deal on the Sporty goes through. Fingers crossed.

Neither are my first choice, but the FLHR is pretty banged up, gonna need a little body work for sure. I'd probably just strip off the tins and flat black everything.

The Sporty, if it bothered me enough, there's always plastidip. Peals right off if I don't like it.

Had four big harleys and two Evo sportsters and IMO the sportster holds up better. Now if you are wanting something smooth the rubber mount HR is.Sportster did not get rubber mount till 04 I think?I rode my 95XL to Montana and back and never missed my bigger bikes at home and the thing got 55mpg!! Better to do your own up keep on allso. The wife liked my big harley and the Nomad better but liked the sportster 100 times better than the 1400.She hated that bike so much. [emoji2]
