New Tank

I'm currently in the process of painting a new tank. After the paint job when I reinstall the peacock do I need to do anything to seal it to the tank to prevent leaking or will it be enough to just torque down the screws properly? Anything else I should know in general about this project? Thanks

First, the tank should be painted with a hardening two-part paint, or coated with that type clear coat, to prevent fuel spills damaging it.
Second, I would consider fuel-rated sealant; I believe yellow Teflon thread tape is fuel rated.

The fuel cock assembly has an o-ring seal that is meant to seal it and is all it should need.

I chose to look up my bike's year but they all should be the same.

Guess I was thinking of a different type petcock. Herb is right, just make sure the surface is clean, flat and smooth.

I just saw this and thought it may be a good idea.
