It's about time you do as I told you and stopped with your Technically Bankrupt Personal Attacks......like this one;

Assuming the bigger one throws more light - I'd go with that one.

Now,...let's see you post something other than your ASS-umptive, ASS-uming ASS-umptions......You know,...like TECHNICAL INFORMATION,...Being that this..... IS The Tech Board and all.

@Designer So has someone put a 7" bucket and headlight and share it? I kinda want to change the bucket so I have more space for the wiring, but I don't know where to start.
More RPMs please :putput:

He wouldn't know.

There's basically 2 ways you can go - either with fork mount ears:

Or like the stock setup with the single bottom mount:

Thank you for ignoring hillsy's attitude. . As you can see from his Personal Attacks, Assumptions and Technically/Factually Bankrupt postings,....He's got some sort of "issues" lately. :space: :dunno:

Having done two of these Headlight Mods myself,. this "mod" will probably become a bit involved. ...pretty much because all the wring has to go through that location and make connections and still be pretty water-proofed.

Since that Stock Headlight size has enough room for the wiring, are you sure you really need the extra space?

Have you considered an install of a LED Bulb in the Stock Bucket?

No worries.

If you are considering just an LED bulb in your stock headlight, the ones that are the best are the ones with the heatsinks on the back of the bulbs like this:

The "normal" looking ones are kinda crap (I've tried a few).

Which becomes a problem on a VS as the headlight bucket in stock trim doesn't really have much room for a heatsink....and you don't want to close it up in a bucket anyway.

@Designer That is why I asked, because you had (or have) 2 custom bikes that are nice and I saw the different headlights there. Yes I have tried the "normal" LED bulb and helps a little but to be honest because of the fins in the back that get hot I am not too sure is safe, so I was thinking on buy a "bullet" harley headlight and modify the bracket, then put on a real headlight LED the JB ones (I think that is the brand) and make it better, for the reviews and some examples I have seen that LED light and 2 more are what we can call legal in the USA.

@Hillsy thank you for your answer, I semi answer your question above too, but, I am really not keen of those affordable buckets, so I guess once I have time I will be posting (if possible) the change to a bullet headlight.

Thanks guys.

Good eyes there, :space: The Headlight you see on my SpringTail Chopper has the "bullet" style shape to it. :space: It is 5-3/4" diameter and a Faceted Parabolic Reflector. :space: The Bulb is a Xtreme White PIAA Bulb listed as a Wattage - 35W=70W from Custom Dynamics. :space: Because of the Reflectors ability to concentrate the light, it puts out a really nice, bright beam on the Road ahead without scattering light to the sides or up that is pretty much wasted.

To keep the wiring as protected as it is in the Stock Headlight, I fabricated a mounting for the Bullet "Bucket" using the Stock Headlight Bracket ( that mounts to the Lower Triple Tree) and has the Wiring pass through it.

Here's some information about the Mounting Spacer I made in order to fit the Bullet Headlight Bucket onto the Stock Headlight Mounting Bracket and keep the wires protected;

I installed an Adjure 7" bucket on my chopped VS800,
I used the single arm type. (Similar to hillseys pic but not that bucket) It came with a threaded block and I made another block from aluminium to interface to the triple tree.

They make a variety of bucket styles and different lamp designs

I used a Headwinds 8-9032-H4 LED Headlight Bulb and I am happy with it.

Does it have a hole for the wiring?

I'll wager it has,...but nowhere's near large enough for all the Wiring and Connectors that the Intruders have that go in,...connect,...and come out.

I had to consult what wager means, yeah I think I like this idea now.

I did have to enlarge the hole with a round metal file.

The adjure bucket has good chrome. After several years, the chrome plated aluminum bezel that secures the lamp shows some corrosion.

Beware of cheap LED bulbs as they don't place the lights in a good position and they won't focus well.

The headwinds brand is good.

Sometimes you gotta pay to play.

You more or less get what you pay for with LED lights.
