Assuming the bigger one throws more light - I'd go with that one.

Re: Led head lamp
I think the 7" will look out of place on the 800.
I can't seem to win the lottery. I think I have used up all of my good luck riding motorcycles.

Re: Led head lamp
Yea, stock is 5.75, and should be sufficient.
If you are currently running a windscreen, it likely has a cut out for the smaller size and may need modification.

Haha - gotta have a chuckle at choosing a headlight on the way it looks.

They who choose to post their deriding laughter at others for including Appearance as one of the choice criteria are they who have limited understanding of both product capabilities and situational requirements.

It's a headlamp - it's there to do the job first - looks should be a distant second unless you're building a bar hopper.

Again, you post your lack of understanding of the total scope of the situational choice criteria.
At least you stopped your insulting laughter at they who do understand it all.
Thank you.

Lack of understanding?
WTF - it's a fucking headlight.
Pick the one that works the best or put down the tools.

Again,...you post your LACK of understanding that there is more to consider in making choices of this nature that merely how bright it is.
Your self-imposed limitations are your own.

Choppers.
Yeah - I get that's your thing.
Headlight is there for you to SEE. If you don't choose the brighter one...you're not that bright....

Interesting that you keep posting your ignorance of the fact that there are several criteria for ones choosing what headlight to buy.
So,...according to your single criteria;

Re: Led head lamp
I would want to know how a larger headlight, with the same lumens, is brighter.
BTW, the larger housing would probably make it easier to stuff all the wiring and connections in it.

Re: Led head lamp
All other things being equal, larger sized headlights generally have a better light spread because they can have larger reflectors.
There was no mention of output here so we don't know if the lumens are the same across the two or not.

Re: Led head lamp
Good point Herb, This "notion" that larger = brighter is just plain wrong. The same Brightness (Lumens) of the Lamp (Bulb) put on a larger Headlight does NOT automatically equate to a better illumination of the road ahead.
Any Parabolic Reflector's effectiveness relies on Focal Point..... meaning,....how it's shape concentrates the Lamps Random Emanation Of Light into and Effective Focused Beam,.....one specific to the geometry of the needed illumination of the Road Ahead and,... in part,.. some objects alongside the road .
The Parabolic Reflector can be bigger,...but also it can not be as good and concentrating Bulb's Light into a Road-illuminating beam.

Re: Led head lamp
Had you read and understood the technical descriptions about a headlights Parabolic Reflector,...you'd not have posted this.
For the sake of the accuracy and viability of the content of this Board,...Please,..when you post here on the TECH BOARD,....do try to make it based on Technical Information,...not your ASS-umptive opinionations.

We have no technical information here - except for physical size.

Re: Led head lamp
I am not pretending to be anything. Just posting knowledge that a Parabolic Reflectors Geometrical Shape is THE most important Factor in relation to their effective concentration of Light in the making a Focused Beam for Road illumination. ....and thus,...that mere Larger Size does NOT automatically mean "brighter".
Perhaps all the Technically Accurate Information I posted causes you to post this ASS-umption you made here?
It would Be Best you concentrate on providing Technical Information that Will Be Of Help,... instead of your opinionated personal attacks,....K?
