Well he really wasnt a president. He was a racial quota that people felt needed to be filled who won because the republicans basically handed him the presidency. Kind of like the democrats handed it to the republicans by running Hillary. McCain was the Hillary of the republican nominees.

He actually was the President and he got elected twice.
I agree that the republicans gave it to him both times by not running a viable candidate.
However to say he wasn't the President, places the accuser in the same category as those who say Trump's not "their" president.
It's un-American and disrespectful to the citizens who cast their vote.

I think that the purpose of this post/discussion was to identify a difference between the two parties follower's. That's OBVIOUSLY not the case.

Is there a difference between the 2 parties, right now?

The heavies in the GOP oppose everything Trump is trying to get done, just as the dims are.

This points out what I said before.

https://constitution.com/trump-focuses- ... l-attacks/

"Yesterday morning, President Trump spoke with the press before meeting with former Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger.

The biggest question seeming to weigh on the minds of the media was Senator Bob Corker’s recent comments about President Trump leading us to WWIII. After the President calmly denied that he was leading us down a path to war, he argued that conflict was the direction the last 25 years of history had been leading us, and that he was doing his very best to solve the problems that previous administrations simply kicked down the road.

When reporters asked if his ongoing conflict with his own party would hinder his efforts to get a tax reform deal done, the President was hopeful that that wouldn’t be the case. He explained that tax reform was popular among voters, which should help the GOP support his efforts and then he added that he would also soon be issuing an executive order about Obamacare that would hopefully alleviate some of the pressure Americans are feeling.

I don’t think so, no. I don’t think so at all. I think we’re well on our way. It’s very — the people of this country want tax cuts. They want lower taxes.

We’re the highest-taxed nation in the world. Our companies are not leaving so much now because we have them coming back. You see what happened. You see the announcements from companies building car plants now in Michigan; they’re going to various different states. They’re actually picking some additional locations. But just last week, five plants announced that they’re going to build in this country.

But I will say that we’re the highest-taxed nation in the world. People want to see massive tax cuts. I’m giving the largest tax cuts in the history of this country. In addition to that, there will be reform.

So I think that it’s politically — it’s very positive. The people of the country want it. We’re also bringing back $3 trillion from offshore. That’s money that’s been there for years that wants to come back into the country, but the tax situation didn’t allow it to happen and the bureaucracy. And that’s going to come back as part of the deal — $3 trillion. It could even be more than that.

People want to see tax cuts, they want to see major reductions in their taxes, and they want to see tax reform — and that’s what we’re doing. And we’ll be adjusting a little bit over the next few weeks to make it even stronger. But I will tell you that it’s become very, very popular.

And I’ll also be signing something probably this week, which is going to go a long way, to take care of many of the people that have been so badly hurt on healthcare. And they’ll be able to buy, they’ll be able to cross state lines, and they will get great, competitive healthcare, and it will cost the United States nothing. Take care of a big percentage of the people we’re talking about, too.

So with Congress the way it is, I decided to take it upon myself. So we’ll be announcing that soon as far as the signing is concerned. But it’s largely worked out. It’s very simple in one way but very intricate in another. But it will be great, great healthcare for many, many people — a big percentage of the number of people that we were talking about for failed Obamacare.

Now, we’re going to have to do something with Obamacare because it’s failing. Henry Kissinger does not want to pay 116 percent increase in his premiums, but that’s what’s happening. And it’s actually getting worse; it’s getting worse by the minute. So we’re going to have to do something with Obamacare and that will work out.

But very importantly, a big percentage of people will be able to get healthcare. And they’ll be able to go across state lines, they’ll be able to buy from many, many competitors — meaning the insurance companies — and it will not cost our country anything, but they’ll have great, great health insurance again.

The President said all of this while responding to some very hurtful personal attacks from a GOP Senator, which seems to undercut the idea that he’s a loose cannon. The president seems to be laser focused on policy, why can’t his opponents do the same?

Imagine how much better off we’d be if Democrats stopped obsessing over fallacious scandals about race relations and Russia, and the GOP moderates stopped falling all over themselves to support the Democrats and both groups started focusing, like the President, on policy?

What a world that could be."

Oh?

Out of the 34 countries in the OECD, America ranks first with a 39.1 percent corporate tax rate, compared to an OECD average of 24.1 percent. The OECD figure is what’s called the statutory rate, meaning the base rate applied to corporate profits.

Keep in mind that business taxes hit everyone that works for a business or buy their product/services. High taxes lower wages and raise prices.

Do you need to take Economics 101?

There are many ways to figure tax rates, and those that are for higher taxes will always seek out the way that shows the rate as being very low.

No Obama documents in Obama library?

The Obama Foundation is taking an unconventional approach to the presidential center and library being planned in Chicago. It's opting to host a digital archive of President Barack Obama's records, but not keep his hard-copy manuscripts and letters and other documents onsite.

Herb, I'm not seeing a bit of difference between those folks who are hating on Trump, and those who have been doing so with Barry. Might align themselves with a different party but the M.O. is the same.
This is why it doesn't matter who gets into office, we're politically disfunctional.

Herb, Are the establishment politicians the problem? Or is it the people?
Look at just this post. Now go back two years. Same rubbish from the same people, just different presidential support.
I think that the people took the BAIT from DC a little too well.
What did Reagan, Clinton, both Bush's, and Barry really get done??
Nothing! And that's how it works. Congress is the RESPONSIBLE party.

Actually, Reagan did accomplish a lot of good things. Clinton did too when the GOP actually did something conservative and forced him to act. Bush started fucking things up with what he accomplished, and obummer doubled down on really screwing up the country, with the help of the libs of both parties.

Trump is trying to do things that will help the country and is being blocked by the elites of both parties.

Herb, actually Reagan didn't do anything. Think about it, Reagan signed off on legislation that re-established the military industrial complex. It was due BECAUSE the military had been stagnant since 75 when Nam ended. He just happened to be President when Congress appropriated the funding to finally upgrade the military.
Clinton did the "hands off" thing with the Dotcom boom that occurred during his presidency. Congress also did there part by not legislating anything that would hamper that growth, OR dramatically increase government spending.
All this aside our problems are not created by the left or the right. Our problems stem from an entrenched number of career politicians like Pelosi, McCain, etc... Moderate politicians bent on regulations and spending aimed at reelection.
The PROBLEM is that "we the people" don't recognise the bullshit that's coming out of these establishment politicians, and instead align ourselves to this one or that politician.
Does Trump say some shit or do something that makes you just shake your head? If he doesn't in your views, you've probably fallen into the aforementioned alignment issue. NOBODY, gets it right ALL the time.
For example the Iran deal; why is it that the republicans are bent on curtailing Iran's standing in the international community? I know the answer but I bet MOST American's, including here don't know. And it has NOTHING to do with Israel, wmd's, or terrorism. It's NOT in Iran's interests to be involved in the aforementioned. So the aforementioned are symptoms to force dialogue. Like playing an international chess game to force dialogue and recognition.
Back to the point, both the supporters of the Dems and republicans are disfunctional. We're politically stupid and unwilling to correct this.

Fighting the establishment insiders is a frustrating battle. They have the power and know how to use it. But it's wrong to say we are unwilling to correct our political stupidity, proof being the non politician in the WH fighting for us the people.

Lonerider, actually Trump is doing EXACTLY what a president is supposed to do, we've just forgotten about the president's function. His job is to protect us from Congress, which is why his authority is the veto. We've had too many president's serving the PARTY and not the people. However that's not to say Trump hasn't overstepped his authority, one granted to Congress, not the President.
But back to the point; how many here have sent a WORTHLESS Congressman back to DC simply because of party affiliation? Stupid!!! Was that worthless congressman likely to change if sent back? Stupid!!!!
