I was wondering what kind of grease is best for wheel bearings, etc.
I have some valvoline synthetic blend. I've used it on my dirt bikes but I don't ride them near as much as I do my VL800.
Best lube for the job...

I tried bacon lube once but burnt bacon is not a good smell.

Well my grease is black. I could actually get some of the red grease we use on the big trucks at work. It's like 25 bucks a tube. It's really good stuff.

Got my 08 C50 at half list on the net.Looked like new and had the $400 shield and small sissybar and pad.Had 6,000 miles and now has 28,000 all trouble free miles .Every time I have the rear wheel off out dab some grease on the splines and once took the cover off and it looked good but put more grease in anyway.What ever can in my stash that looked good at the time.Its geared way to low but good everyday go for bike.On the fourlane at 85mph you would swear its going to blow but has not.Bought it thinking they are about the same motor as the old 805 v-twin intruder but they are not and seem to die sooner from what I read.

I took the little metal cover with three screws off after reading on a site that some came with no lube from factory.Mine had lube but gave them a good amount anyway.Think this was in wheel or maybe the stump?When you have it off you will see the thin metal plate.T-beck told us way back that he took his bikes all apart in the winter.Even the sealed wheel bearing.Then next year told of how he watched the dealer work on them.Lots of that kind of stuff on purple [emoji2] .I worked in a bike shop a few hours a week way back in the stone age when I was drag racing 77-87 with that shops name on side of bike.I sure am not good enough to tell others much .
