stator replace problem

Post by buster711 »

I was replacing the stator and R/R when I noticed that I had forgotten to run the new stator wires through the grommet - So while doing so there are two other wires coming through that grommet and connecting to a small black box inside the cover....Well those two wires were so brittle (from years of heat I guess) that they broke off inside the grommet.
I am wondering what this box is called.?? There is another box in there also but this is the smaller of the two and closest to the opening for wires...I am thinking solder will not work because of excessive heat and am wondering how to fix this...Thanks for the help folks..

Are you talking about pickup coils? Pictures are helpful.

I don't want to own them all, just ride them all.

I imagine it is the same as an 800. The 2 wires go to the neutral sensor and oil pressure switch.

if it's a 1400, the wire are:3 yellow for stator; 4 fragile (brown inside, color i cant remember outside); 2 for each pickup coils.
