You're thinking about the Volvo PV544, made from '58 to '65.

edit: Actually, the PV544 was an updated version of the PV444.

High Priest of Assholiness? I like that!

I liked Mean Insensitive Bastard too. But my favorite is SAWB, Smart Ass White Boy. [emoji106]

[emoji2] Test drove it this morning. Bought it this afternoon. Had to take Di out to a large parking lot after work so she could practice. She was worried that she'd forgotten how to drive a stick, after 5 years in the SX-4. (auto) She was fine. [emoji106]

You can't forget how to drive stick, not even if you try. Unless you have a stroke or something.

When I learned to drive big trucks, one thing you have to learn is double clutching. Very different from driving a synchronized car stickshift. They told us that's why they prefer teaching people who have never driven a manual trans...it's more difficult to UNLEARN what you know about them, then learn a new technique, than it is to just learn double clutching to start with.

Problem is, now I try to drive my Protege like a big truck. [emoji2] I had to switch back to little wheels technique.

Have fun with the turbo, Speedy McBoost Boy.

Is it wrong that I've driven it less than 10 minutes, and haven't been beyond 4th gear yet? :donno:

Funny... brought my bike today, pulled into the lot, and there's a silver Volvo C30 T5 sitting in the exact spot where Tracey always parks. David (hubby) told me yesterday that he has always been a Volvo guy, his whole family has, and he went to Nova Scotia to get the one I bought. Told me they were selling because they bought a new one. Went to Quebec to get it. I didn't know he meant the exact same car. The one outside is probably a 2013, the last year they made 'em. He must really love these cars. :lolfall:

Caveat emptor from a car sales manager.. Imports have very expensive replacement parts. Especially the Finn and Danish units. When we traded for one it was marked for wholesale no matter how clean it was. Got burned too many times with "little" things being wrong that cost a fortune.

[emoji2] Understood. I'm rollin' the dice because I like the look of the thing. Never thought about owning a Volvo, but there ya go.

[emoji2] To be honest, I've hardly driven it. Nice weather all week so I took the bike every day. I did take the Grandson for a 5 minute rip up the highway, and it drives real nice. Got a wee bit more pep than the SX-4. I love looking at this car. The mirrors are kinda weird... I can see along the body of the car, because of it's shape, and they're kinda small too. Plus the doors feel huge to me. lol

So far... me like! [emoji106]
